Are you always in research mode?
When someone says to me in my DM’s…. “I’m going to research probiotics next!”
It makes me cringe a little.
I’m ALL for education, learning, and being informed so you can feel empowered when it comes to your health. This is crucial these days.
But when you are experiencing symptoms like
constipation
bloating
difficulty maintaining your weight
heart burn
fatigue
cravings
….etc. These are signs of a gut imbalance. It takes more than just taking a probiotic to bring things back into balance.
Do I believe probiotics can help? YES - for some. Do I believe they are a cure-all? NOPE.
What happens when we get into research mode, is we are typically looking for a quick fix. A blog post that will tell us “this probiotic will fix your bloating!” Sure it might help. And maybe it does for a bit… but it doesn’t address the underlying imbalance completely. The gut imbalance will pop up again somehow and in some way. Maybe with bloating, or maybe as another symptom.
When the probiotic isn’t working how you hope…. you get back into research mode and add bone broth, then increase your fibre, and drink more water…..
Getting stuck in research mode is like a ball in a pinball machine - stuck, bouncing up, down and everywhere.
All these gut health ‘hot tips’ can be great. There is a lot of great information out there, but there is also a lot of not so great information.
What you really need : a system.
A system to piece all the information together to address your gut from north to south and weed out the unnecessary steps.
Our GUT starts in the mouth + ends at the anus. Tackling any gut issue isn’t compartmentalized. The gut works as a whole. It’s a north-to-south process. If something isn’t working in our upper GI tract…you are going to have issues below. This process helps us find the root cause, rather than just addressing one piece of the puzzle.
I do a happy dance every time a new gal joins The Good Gut Method. because it tells me she is ready to get rid of her bloating, understand her metabolism and overcome her food sensitivities for GOOD.
Danielle came to me..
✖️nervous to eat because she never knew how her body would react (she would be in the bathroom or feel gross for days.)
✖️Taking Immodium regularly
✖️ With normal blood work despite frequent diarrhea, bloating + gas
For years she just lived with the consequences, but it was becoming exhausting!! Plus, her wedding day was coming up + she couldn’t deal with the unknown on such a big day!
She spent a lot of time in “research mode". These are some of the things she came across and tried. Danielle
- Removed eggs from her diet
- Tried being vegetarian
- Was given antibiotics for a gut infection
These things helped for a time….but her symptoms all came back with a vengeance.
After going through The Good Gut Method and addressing her digestive concerns and imbalances from north to south she said this….
"I felt so confident on one of the biggest days of my life, my wedding day. I wasn’t worried about having an upset stomach, running to the bathroom at anytime, or being gassy.”
……When I started with Erin and the Good Gut Method I was very lost with my food, food sensitivities, and what did or didn’t work for my body. We started slow with education and started to make changes that didn’t revolve around food. She taught me to appreciate my gut, notice symptoms, manage stress, and to focus on good wholesome foods. The whole process was not a diet, but a discovery process where I learned what worked for my body.
After completing this program I knew what to do to heal my gut, what my food triggers were and overall what was best to fuel my body. I felt so confident on one of the biggest days of my life, my wedding day. I wasn’t worried about having an upset stomach, running to the bathroom at anytime, or being gassy. For me, that was an ultimate win. Erin helped me change my life for the better and a journey that I would recommend to anyone to embark on. I can say that it was the best money spent. Lean in, learn and the benefits will shine through.”
